Abstract (English)
Objectives: This is a review on the state of research on the influence of room climate on staff, patients and visitors in hospitals. An overview gives structure to the complex variety of relevant influencing factors. Method: This review starts with an evaluation of laws and standards, to identify relevant room climate parameters. A systematic literature research helps to identify the state of research. The comparison of studies with same focus underlines previous research findings or shows the need for further research. Results: The influence of room climate on staff and patients can be only partly justified. Many correlations are not yet verified through systematic research. There are only few studies, which can be compared directly. To make this possible, there is need for further research. Tools have to be developed, to allow the comparison of different studies. Outlook: A POE (Post Occupancy Evaluation) assessment system for hospitals has to be developed to ensure the better comparability of results. A database provides the comparable results for further scientific research.
