Room climate is a fundamental factor for human wellbeing. Laws and standards define the ‘state of art for room climate parameters. To know this state of art helps us, to understand better the influence of environmental factors on human wellbeing. The development of a database with room climate factors defined in laws and standards is the starting point for this research and allows the comparison with other systems. Criteria for the database are structured in thermal comfort, indoor air quality, natural and artificial lighting and acoustics, all with a human centered perspective. The certification of building aims partly in a similar direction, namely to put a focus on building occupants comfort. TQB (Total Quality Building) is the certification system of the Austrian ÖGNB, the Austrian Society for Sustainable Building. This paper compares the legal requirements for offices buildings with the requirements of the TQB certification system and shows, if and why TQB has an additional benefit for the occupant of a building.
Das Raumklima ist ein wesentlicher Einflussfaktor auf das Wohlbefinden des Menschen. Um zu verstehen und umfassend abzugrenzen, wie unsere Umgebung uns beeinflusst, wurde eine Datenbank mit Kriterien erstellt, die in Normen und Gesetzen festgelegt sind und die damit den Stand der Technik zum Thema Wohlbefinden abbildet. Die Datenbank enthält Kriterien zur thermischen Behaglichkeit, zur Qualität der Innenraumluft, zur natürlichen und künstlichen Beleuchtung und zur Akustik. Der Mensch wird in den Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung gestellt um zu verstehen, wie Gebäude uns beeinflussen. Die Zertifizierung von Gebäuden verfolgt zum Teil ähnliche Ziele, nämlich den Nutzerkomfort ins Zentrum der Betrachtung zu stellen. Der Vergleich mit dem Zertifizierungssystem TQB (Total Quality Building) der ÖGNB (Österreichische Gesellschaft für nachhaltiges Bauen) bezogen auf die Anforderungen an ein Bürogebäude dient der Evaluierung der Datenbank und soll aufzeigen, ob und wo das TQB einen Mehrwert für den Nutzer im Vergleich zu den gesetzlichen Anforderungen bietet.
